| Band History |
Jock Mackenzie formed the first pipe band in Orange in the late 1920's which is why the band wears the Mackenzie tartan. The band then had a name change in the late 50's to Canobolas Highland Pipe Band. The band is based in Orange and at present is made up of 22 players from the Orange and Bathurst region. The band is kept very busy throughout the year travelling to Australia Day, Anzac Day ceremonies, Balls, Running of the Sheep in Boorowa, the Cherry Festival in Young, and whatever functions are required from them throughout the Central West. |
